In the sermon titled “What’s Your Biggest Investment?”, Pastor Garry emphasizes the importance of spiritual priorities over material possessions. He opens by stating that Christ came not to make men good, but to make them free, urging listeners to trust God even when circumstances seem adverse. Through the story of a man who lost millions in Bitcoin by discarding his computer, Pastor Garry parallels this loss to the parable of the hidden treasure in Matthew 13:44. The man in the parable, upon discovering hidden treasure, sells everything he owns to purchase the field where the treasure is buried, showing that spiritual riches outweigh worldly possessions.

Pastor Garry elaborates on the concept that where a person spends their time and money reveals their true values. He challenges the congregation, especially men, to reflect on their greatest investments, asking if their priorities lie in wealth, health, or success, instead of in God. Using personal experiences, including his own financial loss, Garry emphasizes that material investments can disappear, but spiritual wealth, like faith in God’s Word, is eternal. He recounts how losing a significant amount of money taught him that true treasure lies in God, not in financial gain or worldly security.

The sermon concludes by urging men to focus on heavenly investments, aligning their hearts with God’s will. Pastor Garry warns against serving both God and money, pointing out that one must choose their master. He highlights the futility of accumulating earthly wealth, which will not last, and contrasts it with the eternal treasure of a relationship with God. Garry encourages listeners to meditate on God’s Word, live in obedience to it, and trust that investing in their spiritual life will never lead to disappointment.
